Karolina Pernar
Karolina Pernar was born in Zagreb in 1978. In 1997, after completing studies at the Applied Art and Design School in Zagreb, metal design department, she went to Perugia, Italy, where she specialised in goldsmith work.
In 1999 she enrolled in the Pietro Vannucci Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, sculpture department, in the class of Gianfranco Ercolanoni.
In 2002 she won the first prize and the purchase prizes at the 9th Edgardo Manucci Sculpture Competition, Arcevia (Ancona), Italy.
In 2003 she won the A. Rannocci scholarship.
In 2004 she completed the TAM Art Metal-Working School in Pietrarubba (Pesaro-Urbino), supervised by sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro and under the artistic direction of the sculptor Nunzio.
In the same year, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts.
In 2005 she was awarded the young artist prize at Rovinj Local Museum at the Art Colony exhibition.
She currently lives and works between Rome and Zagreb.
